mmm, I haven't been on xanga for quite a while ^_^ and while I wait for a shower, I might as well update =]
So if anyone doesn't know yet, I'm taking some intense training dance classes for the Global Chinese New Year Gala. Yeah, so we have to have really really good dance skills to match 'global' standards. Yep, don't worry though, we still have our education ^_^
So how is everything going on in Port? anyone would like to update me ^_^ I heard that Mrs. Lamberg is really tough and it's really hard for her to be satisfied =/ Well, good luck! I don't know if anyone will reply this post, but hey, it's always nice updating once in a while.
We have a performance tomorrow for our sponsors and the media to like, I dunno, sort of advertise the Gala? Therefore I will be in TOTAL lack of sleep (hopefully not) tomorrow... hopefully the girls won't take too long of a shower or else I'll be waiting until midnight O.O
That's all!

now it is 10:00 am and I have strangely found strength to wake up so early compared to when I slept last night. =D yup, we had the performance last night and it was a great success.
The first dance we had was this sort of ribbon dance. At first we were really really worried because we didn't have enough static guard for the ribbons. The ribbons kept sticking on to the floor and it was impossible to continue the dance. The girls (including me) had to jump through these ribbon hoops also, but the ribbons kept falling on us because of the static. But finally someone managed to buy more static guard, so it wasn't that bad in the end. I remember that dance the audience loved.
Mongolion dance: This dance is from Mongolia and female dancers had to balance bowls on their head through the whole dance. Haha, this dance is really funny because before the performance, we would always practice by wearing our bowls down to lunch everyday and be teased really badly by the guys. Yeah, anyways. That danced the crowd loved too... I wish I could post I video.
When the Lion's Eyes Turn Red: This dance isn't really one of our dance troupe's dances, but some of us were asked to join. This is actually a dance that was already performed in our Chinese New Year Gala in NYC, and it is actually a story of a kind hearted elderly lady who saves a beaten up begger on the streets. However, the begger turned out to be a goddess and, for her kindness, told her that when the Stone Lion's eyes turn red (outside her house) then there will be a flood. Because of her kindness, after the goddess left, the lady told everybody she knew. SOme believed her and some didn't. THe ones who didn't, died in the end. Yeah, and I was one of them >.< I was part of the didn't-believe-crowd. And during the flood, I had to spin, spin, spin, and drown. But yeah, it was an interesting dance.
Last dance. A Child's Dream: This is also a sort of play/dance. It talks about the Falun Gong persecution in China, and how a mother is arrested right before a child's eyes. The policemen just took her mother away and left the child alone in the dark outside with her house locked. So yeah, she has no where to go, and it's lonely and dark. And little did she know that her mother already died. But then one day she dreams of her mother with her playing and watching the stars... then she enters another dimension where she finds her mother in heaven. And yup, these goddesses dance around for her (including our dance troupe) and yeah, so it's kind of like a symbol that her mother is watching for her, along with all the goddesses, because in the end after the dance, someone found the child and rescued her.
OH BOY, THAT WAS QUITE A LOT, I don't know how I managed to finish this post >.< That's all for now! |
